Overview

Designit brought me onto a six-person team to design the digital experience for a multi-brand loyalty programme for Fawaz Alhokair Group, Saudi Arabia's largest department store and retail operator. The brief covered 34 features across app and web, delivered in six weeks.

Sprint Speed at Scale

Six designers split into three feature teams, each carrying 3-4 features per sprint across three two-week sprints. Every feature moved from user flow to wireframe to high-fidelity UI and into a client-facing deliverables pack for sign-off, keeping the full 34-feature scope moving in parallel rather than in sequence.

Design Systems Under Pressure

A shared design system let each team build and reuse components as the feature list grew, keeping four different device forms, native app, mobile web, tablet web and desktop web, consistent without duplicating work.

A Truly Remote Team

The team spanned five countries: project lead in Germany, design lead in Indonesia, the client in Saudi Arabia, and designers split between the UK and India. Staying inside Figma and inside the design system kept a genuinely distributed team moving at the same pace.

What This Project Showed

Antum was proof that a tight scope, a shared system, and clear sprint discipline can carry a distributed team through a large brief fast. It's one of a handful of contract projects from that period, each sharpening a different muscle.

The real win wasn't the feature count, it was proving a five-country team can move at sprint speed without breaking consistency, as long as everyone is building from the same system.
